RŌŌM is a light-filled warehouse studio in Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast. It comes as a blank canvas: you style it, and it’s yours for the hours you book. It’s a private booking, so only your guests will be in the space.

The floor is about 100m², and the ceiling slopes from 3.9m down to 3m. It holds up to [50 guests standing] or around [30–40 seated]. For yoga or Pilates mats, plan on about [20–25 mats].

• 2 trestle tables (great for food) and 2 plinths
• Fairy-light ceiling and chandelier
• Speakers you can connect your own playlist to
• Kitchenette with bar fridge and sink (no oven or microwave)
• One bathroom
• Air conditioning
• Bins for rubbish and recycling, plus cleaning equipment

No, the space doesn’t include tables and chairs; you bring your own or hire them. We offer cocktail tables and bar stools, and our partner Good Vibes can supply chairs, lounges and more. Outside hire companies are welcome to deliver and collect around your booking.

Some photos show events that clients styled themselves. If you’d like to see the space as it is, ask us for current photos or book a viewing.

Yes, and we recommend it. Viewings run weekdays after 4:30pm and on weekend mornings. Email us with a time that suits, and if you’re interstate we can send photos or a video instead.

Street parking on Karen Avenue and Cronulla Avenue is easy on weekends. Please avoid driveways, as most neighbouring businesses trade 7 days. Pacific Square has plenty of parking and is a 2–5 minute walk: walk through beside Do or Dye hairdressers. The studio is also a short walk from the tram.

RŌŌM Studio is at 1/3 Karen Avenue, Mermaid Beach QLD 4218, behind the pink roller door. We’ll send arrival instructions with your booking confirmation.

We host:

• Birthdays (19th and over), engagements and baby showers
• Bridal showers and hens
• Christmas and work parties
• Product and book launches, pop-ups and markets
• Workshops and networking events
• Pilates, yoga and breathwork
• Photoshoots and content creation

If your idea isn’t on this list, just ask.

No. We don’t host 16th, 17th or 18th birthday parties, school formal after-parties, or under-18 events where alcohol is served. Family events with children, such as 1st birthdays and kids’ parties, are welcome when hosted by adults.

Yes. We have early-morning and evening slots for recurring classes. Email us your timetable for a regular-hire rate.

Yes. The space has:

• Afternoon natural light, plus a side roller door that opens for extra light
• A long white curtain
• A large mirror
• The pink roller door outside, which is a favourite backdrop

There is no studio lighting or cyc wall, so bring your own lights. The booking is for the space only; it doesn’t include a photographer, but we’re happy to recommend photographers, hair and makeup.

Example: a 6-hour Saturday party is [$660 + GST], plus a [$400] refundable bond.

Yes. Your booked hours run from when you arrive to set up until you’ve packed down and left. Book enough time for both. Extra time can be added at the hourly rate, subject to other bookings.

1. Send an enquiry through the website form with your date, times, event type and guest numbers.
2. We’ll confirm availability and send an invoice.
3. Your date is secured once the $250 deposit is paid. We can’t hold dates without a deposit.

• $250 deposit to secure your date. It’s non-refundable and comes off your total.
• Balance due 21 days before your event.
• [$400] refundable bond, paid with your balance and returned after your event.

Within [5 business days], once the space is checked. Email your bank details (BSB, account number and account name) after your event to speed this up. Deductions only apply for:

• Damage
• Extra cleaning
• Time over your booking

If we make a deduction, we’ll tell you what it was for.

[The deposit is non-refundable. You can move your date once, free of charge, with at least 14 days’ notice, subject to availability. Payments made within 21 days of the event are non-refundable.] Full terms are at iqstudio.com.au/terms-conditions.

Yes, RŌŌM is BYO. We don’t provide catering or a bar, so bring your own or book your favourite caterer, grazing table, mobile bar or bartender.

Yes. There’s room in the laneway or out the front.

[Glass bottles are fine for pouring, but guests must drink from plastic or acrylic cups.] Broken glass may affect your bond.

Yes. We’re in an industrial area, so [there’s no set noise limit]. Please be mindful of neighbours, and bring your own DJ or playlist.

Everything must be packed down and the studio locked by [midnight].

We have speakers and a projector available. Ask us about a microphone and TV, as availability varies.

Yes, it’s a blank canvas. Balloons, flowers, backdrops and props are all welcome. Please:

• Use no nails, screws or tape that damages walls or curtains
• Use no confetti or glitter

A ladder is available on request.

Yes. For shoots, we can clear the furniture so only the curtains remain. Please ask when you book.

Often, yes. It depends on whether there’s a booking before or after yours. Next-morning collection must be done by [10am]. Confirm with us beforehand.

The studio has a keyless door code, which we’ll text you on the day once your balance is paid. We’re usually not on site, but we’re a call away if you need anything.

• Sort rubbish and recycling into the bins provided
• Sweep the floor
• Wipe down tables and the kitchenette
• Close the roller doors and turn off the lights and air conditioning

We don’t include a cleaner, but [professional cleaning can be added for $300].

[Security isn’t required for adult events. If we approve an event with younger guests, licensed security is required.]

Businesses running classes, workshops or markets should hold their own public liability insurance. Private parties don’t need it.
